The revelation of divine perfect, holy, majestic nature of God and our human, imperfect, sinful, fallen nature takes us into the depths of true repentance, which melts us in the humility of the cleansing fire of His mercy, trusting Him completely for the form that God wants to mold us.
The substance is the same, we do not lose our identity, but our priorities are completely different than before. We begin to focus on the Upper, the Heavens, the Face of our Lord in whose radiance earthly concerns and problems begin to fade. Divine light begins to penetrate into the eyes of our heart and brighten the darkest corners of our souls, turning ashes into wreaths of flowers, sadness - into oil of joy. Tears of gratitude for undeserved mercy and grace drain all the sources of human motivation and effort and cause an unquenchable thirst for The Living Water.
